FREEDOM IS NOT FREE

Dear Friend,
Your help is needed. As you know, too many veterans are still on the streets, without jobs, without food, and without many of the comforts that we take for granted. Whether they served in Viet Nam or recently returned from Iraq
and Afghanistan their lives are forever changed, and for many their marriages, their homes, their jobs, their lives are seriously jeopardized. This is not a problem "somewhere out there", this is a problem right here in Rhode Island.
This is where Operation Stand Down Rhode Island and you, our family, come in. We are working every day to help those who turn to us. We have relied heavily on other sources of income to enable the services that we provide, but
the time has come to ask you to consider giving another hand up. Here's how you can help: If every person who reads this letter will donate $10, and will email or pass this letter along to as many
people as possible to ask them to join us in changing the lives of our vets, we truly believe that we can raise a fund that can offset the significant costs associated with providing the housing and resources we do. Your help will enable us to afford rising costs for
electricity, heat and upkeep for our housing facilities, costs for food and necessities, and funds so that we can continue to assist the many veterans who call daily seeking help with emergency housing, utility payments, and other needs.
We are sending you this letter because we know you care. You know that those who have sacrificed for our country deserve better than to be homeless. They deserve so much more than what too many are getting. You know this as someone who has served yourself or someone who cares about our troops and veterans.
On behalf of the veterans we assist every day, THANK YOU for caring enough to give a HAND UP. Your contribution of any amount will have a huge impact.
